- Book your moving company and confirm a date
- Start decluttering — sort keep, donate, sell, toss
- Research your new neighbourhood (schools, transit, parking)
- Begin collecting boxes and packing materials
4 WEEKS Before Moving Day
- Notify utility companies of your move date
- Update your address with banks, employer, and subscriptions
- Start packing rooms you use least (storage, guest room)
- Arrange childcare or pet care for moving day
1 WEEK Before Moving Day
- Confirm move time and details with your crew
- Pack your first-night essentials box
- Label every box by room and priority
- Set aside cash/jewelry/documents to travel with you
MOVE DAY Final Walkthrough
- Check every closet, cabinet, and drawer before the truck leaves
- Take meter readings and photos of the empty space
- Hand over keys and confirm the inventory count with your crew
- Do a quick walkthrough at the new place before the crew leaves
